Chaitanya Arora received the Women of STEM scholarship at the Melbourne Big Day In Conference on May 30th, 2024. The Women of STEM Scholarship program, supported by industry donors, aims to increase the number and visibility of young women entering the STEM field. Chaitanya is starting her studies at the University of Melbourne this year, with a focus on Computer and Software Systems.


Chaitanya expresses her fascination with the role of technology in tackling global challenges, especially those related to the environment. Her keen interest in environmental issues, particularly water quality and availability, has led to significant research opportunities. During her high school years, she completed the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program (IBDP), which allowed her to conduct research on various intriguing topics. Her favorite project was a psychology study examining the effects of operant conditioning on social media addiction. Apart from her dedication to STEM, she enjoys cooking, playing badminton, spending time with family and friends, and discovering new music.
