The first of quarter of every year is Career Fair season. In addition to selected university career fair events, the ACS Foundation always looks forward to talking with university students at The Big Meet. This year, the ACS Foundation participated in the Sydney, Melbourne, and soon to be Perth events.
The 2025 Big Meet Events are capital city career conferences open to students from all universities in the region. Thousands of students who are eager for guidance and inspiration registered to talk to industry representatives about their future careers.
For over 10 years, the ACS Foundation has participated and used these dates to connect face to face with the next generation of innovators and leaders. The goal of these events is to provide personal guidance to job seekers as they embark on their professional futures.

Connecting with Industry Leaders
Common questions that students ask are about the availability of IT internships and graduate roles, plus what is the best advice for applying for those roles. While some roles require permanent residency, many of the internships and graduate roles are available to international students provided their visa has the corresponding work rights. So, students are keen to sign up for the ACS Foundation newsletter, so they can get notified when appropriate roles become available.
In addition to helping with the job hunt, the ACS Foundation helps advise students on building the career network. Whether it be directing them to ACS student membership programs or providing feedback on CV presentation and interview tips, students appreciate talking face to face with others from their industry.

University and School Events
In addition to the Big Meet, the ACS Foundation also participates in selected university and school career fair events. Recently our WA Manager, Sarah Maiden, spoke to students at the Edith Cowan University Career Fair. The ACS Foundation also had booths at the UTS Big Day In Events. These conferences which are specifically designed for high school students who schools participate as part of their excursion curricula.

Technology is fantastic, but meaningful human connections still matter. By investing in these face-to-face events, we continue to help students navigate the difficult transition from education to work. The Foundation will remain dedicated to supporting students and igniting their career aspirations.
